RULES
First off, let me say Welcome to the site. :-) Please read these, and we will get along just *great*. If the rules change, you will be alerted through the Announcement forum. =)
1. No godmodding.
If the character is not taken yet, it is okay, so long as you do not cause them to change significantly i.e insanity or cause them to die or become paralysed. Basically just don’t change the characters, but you can still use them. If someone as playing as that character, however, you will hopefully have agreed to the thread before hand and you must wait for their reply, do not speak for, move or take control of their character!
Send me a request for a fourth or fifth character and I'll be happy to consider it, though. =) ((Some people have way more time on their hands than I do, or they're just able to handle that many characters. XD))
2. Ask someone before starting a thread with them.
If you are planning to begin an RPG with somebody else, please PM them or talk to them in the cbox about it first and make sure they agree to it all. Of course, you can jus add the [open] tag to your thread and anyone can join. Basically, if you want to roleplay with somebody you cannot do it without their consent.
3. No one-stop posting.
Don't join and then only post once. At least have the decency of posting an application and posting in a thread at least once a week. =)
4. No spamming.
Spamming also includes short messages and double-posting. Avoid doing this at all costs and you won't receive a punishment from the authorities. (lol) Really this shouldn't be a problem unless you're here for the wrong reasons, but chances are if you're reading this, then you're a good person. =)
5. Respect
Respect everyone and everything! Treat others the way you wish to be treated. If you have a problem with someone treating you wrong, let a Mod know: we're here to help you. Although, even if the member's character was rude to yours, it gives you no right to be rude through PMs or through our box. Be nice, alrighty? .
*Note: OOC rudeness is not acceptable. IC rudeness is completely non-real.
6. Cursing is Allowed.
OOC and IC cursing are both allowed, although I would like to say this: IC cursing is more tolerable than OOC cursing. Your character might just have a potty mouth, but you're a real person. You can censor yourself. =) Just keep it light.
If you think someone is being over the top when it comes to this issue, again just alert an admin and we'll handle it.
7. Do not Post in Tagged Threads.
If someone has Tagged (<Tag:(insert name(s) here>) then only those people may post in the thread. It's rude to bump into threads like that and causes unnecessary rivalries and falling-outs.
8. Dramatics are prohibited.
In other words, don't be a drama queen. If you think your character is too dramatic, just pm an admin to look it over. One or two drama queens are okay, but 50 drama queens are not okay.
**Also, no-one is perfect, so no gary-stu's or mary-sue's please. Dramatics are a no, but we still want drama!
9. Do not Advertise via P.M. or Posting
It's alright to PM one or two of your friends about a site that you made or you think is cool, but do not mass-PM. Please do not send more than 3 PMs about Advertising in a month. We have a forum for Advertising. Please USE it. Advertising anywhere else will be considered SPAM and will either be A. Merged or B. Deleted, depending on user activity.
Report this activity please. If you recieve a pm about a site, report it immediately.
If you wish to PM a friend or two about a site, you must approve it through an admin.
10. Consider your posts
There is no minimum. However, if someone posts a thread that is 6 paragraphs, and you decide to reply with three words, that is not really the brightest idea... Please only join or make a thread at your writing standards or at least put effort into fitting the topic starter's standards when you reply. =)
11. Meaningful Posts Please!
Not utter rubbish.<--assuming you know what that entails? Basically: keep your posts interesting and detailed- lead on in the storyline. Giving detail and humor is always nice, or at the least, stay in character. I imagine a Slytherin in Hogwarts wouldn't like to prance in the posies; better yet, he or she would rather crush them.
12. No Canons or Relation to Canons or Celebrities
That means you may not be related to Bella Cullen, Darth Vador, Luke Skywalker, Miley Cyrus, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley, Voldemort, Draco Malfoy, etc. Also please don't join using a celebrity's name.
13. No Plagiarism
What you write here reflects your talent and yours alone. If you have a signature, avatar, or anything else that you didn't write/isn't your's, then show credit, and make sure you have permission to use it.
<-Look to the left. You see in the sidebar I have a Credits section. That demonstrates that I did not create the skin, side-bar, or banner.
14. HAVE FUN
That's the most important thing. Have fun. =)
That's what role playing is all about.
15. Please do as I'm about to say.
to find the code, you need to highlight all of the rules. ctrl + a also works.
16. Testing is to be done by Teachers and Admin's characters only.
If you would like to be tested, please ask one of the teachers on the site or if none are available, one of the admins. Student's are not allowed to test other students unless the student is a staff member.
17. The staff colour is red.
Please try not to use this colour. (:
18. no personal issues in rping
no body likes it when people does this and it may make whoever you are role playing with it upset so try not to do this!
the code is coin. please post it in purple.
